Planning staff is also gathering information from municipalities and other government agencies. A survey has been developed to gather this information. The information is needed before the June 21st meeting and preferrable before June 17th. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Hazard Mitigation Plan Update
The County of Kankakee has begun the process of updating its Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan. This update will present a strategy for reducing the County's vulnerability to the impacts of natural hazard events such as floods and tornadoes. The County's previous plan was adopted in 2006.

Grant Park Community Survey
The Planning Department is assisting the Village of Grant with the development of a new comprehensive plan. Part of the process is to obtain information and opinions from Village residents. This survey will be utilized to gather this information. Persons interested in participating should complete the survey by August 31, 2012 by following the link below.

The Kankakee County Regional Planning Department is part of Kankakee County's full-time professional staff and is responsible for administrating and enforcing adopted ordinance and plans relating to new and existing development within the unincorporated areas of the County. All petitions for Kankakee County Board approval having to do with the use of land are processed through the Planning Department.
