Kankakee County Quality Improvement Grant Initiative

On August 8, 2003 the Kankakee County Board adopted the Kankakee County Quality Improvement Grant Initiative. The Grant is intended to help eligible groups develop plans and projects that promote the community's well being, as it relates to the following five core principles:
 
  • Quality of Life
  • Preservation and enhancement of open space
  • Reinvestment and Redevelopment
  • Local Government Partnerships and Cooperation
  • Projects that benefit the maximum population
 
Eligible applicants include:
   
  • Municipalities
  • Townships
  • Special districts
  • Not-for-profits serving the public interests
  • Local partnerships serving the public interests
 

*Applicants with matching funds will be giving priority

 
 

Examples or eligible projects include:

  • Technical studies or document
  • Comprehensive Plans
  • Brownfield study or clean-up
  • Environmental Projects
  • Local match towards a larger grant
  • Implementation of projects identified in local and regional plans
Applications may be obtained at the Kankakee County Planning Department or they may be downloaded here: KCQIGI Application. Completed applications must be submitted to the Kankakee County Planning Department. Receipt of applications will be ongoing. The maximum grant award is $10,000.
