Traffic Counting
Each year the Planning Departments staff conducts traffic count surveys of all local roads under the Metropolitan Planning Organizations jurisdiction. We use Mitron 48 Hour Traffic Counters to perform this task. Each road is counted for 48 hours. This count is then divided in half to obtain the roads 24 hour Average Daily Traffic Count (ADT). The table below shows the results of these surveys. As subsequent years are added we will post graphs comparing the yearly increase or decrease of traffic on each roadway. The Department has recently purchased Nu-metrics Hi-star traffic counters that will allow us to include peak hour counts, as well as, separate truck traffic.
