Transit
Kankakee County is served by two bus systems. SHOWBUS provides service to the rural areas of the County and River Valley Metro Mass Transit System provides service to the Metropolitan Area consisting of the Villages of Aroma Park, Bourbonnais, Bradley, the City of Kankakee and adjacent unincorporated areas. Interstate Bus Service
Interstate bus service is provided by Greyhound from their transit station on the southside of Kankakee.
Rail Service
Passenger rail service is provided within the County by Amtrak from their transit station in downtown Kankakee. METRA offers rail service throughout the Chicagoland Area. Their station in University Park is about 15 miles north of Kankakee County. Kankakee County is currently studying the possibility of extending the Commuter Rail service to within the County.
