Urban Area Transit Service
Transit service in the urban area is provided by the River Valley METRO Mass Transit District, which began service in July, 1999, and has provided increasing levels of service to an increasing ridership base since that time. Service is provided in Aroma Park, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Kankakee, Manteno, and portions of unincorporated Kankakee County. Service is provided 365 days per year.

River Valley METRO Mass Transit District
Rural Area Transit Service
Rural transit service is provided by Kankakee County, through its contractor, SHOW BUS. Service is provided door-to-door in all portions of rural Kankakee County on weekdays. Deviated fixed route service is provided between downtown Kankakee and Momence on an hourly basis, also on weekdays. Interstate Bus Service
Interstate bus service is provided by Greyhound from their facility on the south side of Kankakee.
Rail Service
Passenger rail service is provided by Amtrak from the train station in downtown Kankakee. Rail passenger service is provided throughout the Chicago area by METRA, whose nearest station is located at University Park.
The River Valley METRO Mass Transit District provides service from Kankakee County to that train station, with schedules noted on their website.
